Hi, I’m Helen. I am thirty something and married and I have been trying to lose weight for more years than I care to mention. It is taking me such a long time because quite frankly I am lazy! 

It’s a basic plan so I don’t go without, as I rather like food. I have tried various diets of the so-called experts and stars and they, for me anyway, don’t work as I would like. This is why a have adopted the French style of eating. That is the full fat cheese and butter but with the emphasis on portion size and exercise. Also, when I ‘diet’ I find myself craving all the ‘forbidden’ fruits such as chocolate and crisps and cider (in fact most foods beginning with C). 

While we are on the subject of fruit, I am averse to eating an apple or a banana as they come but I am happy to munch on a fruit salad with nicely chopped up pieces! 

When it comes to exercise I don’t have the time or the patience (or the cash) to go to the gym so I make use of the free methods in the safety of my own house. The ground floor happens to be in a straight line so I walk back and forth during TV ads and while waiting for stuff. I can walk miles a day and not get wet!
